Stopped to look at pottery and rust at Driving Creek Railway & Potteries at Coromandel. It was not a nice enough day for me to pay for the train ride. Another trip, maybe. Wound up at a lovely A-frame cabin at Thames for the night.
More cool beaches up and around the Coromandel Peninsula. Learned a couple of NZ terms today. Freedom camping is nicely descriptive. Off the side of a side road we spotted some installation art - a fence with a wave design that turned out to be made all of flip-flop-thongs. Discovered later at an eatery that did not allow 'Jandals' that it is a NZ term and a brand name of the favorite summer footwear here.
