Four of us decided visit Grafton to catch a bit of their Jacaranda Festival. Super big thank you to John & Barb for providing the vehicle, diver, and on-board refreshments, as well as letting me ride shotgun & shoot out the window (pictures, that is). I seldom get a chance to gawk, so I sure took advantage of the opportunity!
Besides streets lined with flowering trees, this is also time for the Northern Rivers woodworkers show & sale in Grafton (always good).
Pub lunch specials at the Village Green Hotel are also good, and a good deal.
The return route avoided the Pacific Highway as much as possible, and the Johnsons showed us a fruit-bat colony in Cassino that Jan & I were not aware of. Quick stop at Lismore for take away from THE pie cart. Skirt the edge of Bangalow, re-join the big highway, scoot through some cute tunnels, and we are done.
Great little road trip. Great weather. Excellent company. All-in-all a real BOSS day!
