Lunch at Pac-Fair food court.
Lots of blue things on the beach at low tide, perhaps brought in with the warm waters.
Golden sunrise.

Bused to Broadbeach South, and walked the coastal path to Cavill Ave mall. Rode The G back to Broadbeach South, and bused home. Had energy to be up and down our own beach at low tide. Water temperature is 27 C. (Just WOW!)
We did not set out to break any records, but our step counts wound up over 20,000! We started slow - watching some vendors bump-in to the monthly craft market across the Esplanade. We strolled up & down our beach before going through the market.
Impromptu plans to meet the Bretts at Tallebudgera SLSC for coffee got us going again. We walked the ocean path through Burleigh Heads National Park. Footpath detours due to construction increased our steppage considerably. New to me at the Burleigh Saturday market, I will do some 'research' before I buy some to sample.
There was a colourful sky this morning, including a rare sunrise rainbow. Step stats for the week show me that walking by the water here is conducive to longer distances than walking by the water back in Canada at less than 10C temps! The early walk, over Little Burleigh, down the rainbow staircase & on to Nobby beach for Ned Kelly pies from Foster's Bakery. Lots of attempts to get both the big moon AND the Norfolk Pine branches in focus.
We walked by the ping-pong table at Pac-Fair, but even in the early morning it is too hot to play a game. After an alright sunrise we had an okay-dokey beach walk. By mid afternoon some threatening storm clouds approached over the hinterland. No substantial rain made it to our location.
Early morning beach walk before it gets hot & crowded. After an early supper, I walked up to the Burleigh Heads National Park entrance, and there were people & remnants of a surfing event that I had not even noticed going on this weekend! I went for the bright moon rising, and the regular Sunday drum circle & light twirling show. Open flame juggling is a thing of the past, but there is new tech LED lights & cloths used for dancing now. I did an online search for LED Angel Wings, and got a good idea of available products.
The market at the Burleigh Heads State School officially opens at 0630, but most vendors start selling as soon as they bump-in. We are out of there with our 40+ pounds of veg & fruit before 7. We bused down to Tweed Mall & then walked our way back through Coolie to Kirra, and then caught the bus home from a stop by the airport. |
