I sometimes think that I should have evolved into an animal with verticle eye separation, so I could watch the ground I am walking on at the same time as the sky above.
Or, the skies have it! I sometimes think that I should have evolved into an animal with verticle eye separation, so I could watch the ground I am walking on at the same time as the sky above.

Yup, the sun came up again today. Then I walked to work. Not a bad comute. 20 minutes. Even when I stop to pick up garbage & take pictures!
Lots of blue things on the beach today. Mostly blue bottles (Man-o-wars), but some vella vella as well. I even found an angel wing on my dawn walk!
The day started with a misty sunrise. It was not too windy so I did a little ride down Kirra way. Came home to find Jan playing with a Cotton Harlequin Bug (Beetle?)
Don't really know what any of them are, but I am going out on a limb and calling them Mostly Harmless!
Colorful sunsets here are rareer than colorful sunrises, so here we see the hinterland. Nice start to the day. Slept in until sunup, but managed a few shots fro the balcony. Supper at the Sanctuary Market came with extra entertainment - A wild brush turkey Tom was chasing & potentially sexually harassing the Cape Barren Geese! Barry & I intervened & chased the turkey out of the enclosure. OK, the sunrise is from one of our balconies. I did not go for a beach walk today as I know I have to save my energy for a full day full on at the Sanctuary today.
The other pictures were at CWS, but not part of my duties. I think the collage is of a cicada cast being munched on buy some other insects. The spider is a huntsman. The first circle is the remains of a fern tree. The other 2 are rust, a display waiting behind the scenes for now. As I went out through the dunes this morning a group of birds was raising a real noisy fuss. I discovered their alarm was about a black & white cat hunting in the pre-dawn almost-light. Thus, the first picture is not all black, but of the hunting cat.
So, beach walk and a bus/tram ride to Southport for our traditional visit to Lady & Teddy in the Broadwater Parkland. |
