We said goodbye to Jill & Brendan's Kohimarama home which was our base for the last 10 weeks (thank you very much).
I left behind a book that provided heaps of amusement during our stay. But then, I'm always amused with the English languages. For example, I have always been confused by the British/Aussie/Kiwi usage of the word tea. In my Canadian upbringing and continued existence, tea has always been a beverage - usually hot, sometimes iced, but always a drink. We might drink tea with our breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, or snacks, but we never named any of our food sessions tea. Really, why would I call any meal a beverage when every meal already has a meal name? Anyway, I quite appreciated the New Zealand Dictionary passages for tea and dinner.
We dropped the rental car off at Ace before 4 PM and made it to the airport with heaps of time to enjoy the Strata lounge before our 8 PM planned departure. I like that the Auckland Airport just tells people to relax until an hour or so before boarding time!
After I get settled again in Canada, I will be posting photos & commentary on my other blog here: canbobphotoblog.weebly.com/2019-picblog
