Today's little venture is one we have done often in the past. Start at Currumbin Beach & drive inland on Currumbin Creek Road. Detour briefly at the Eco Village to see if we can find the semi-resident wild kangaroo mob. Yup, a few resting in the shade. Carry on up the creek road, turn off at Tomewin Road, & over the pass to NSW. Take the turn-off to Chillingham (Numinbah Rd.).
Went to the pottery guy first, but the Old Butcher Shop Gallery was closed. We followed instructions to find him at his home or workshop, and he agreed to come open the gallery. We dallied at a place we had not investigated before - lots of whirligigs made from plastic pails & barrels, and some very nice rusty things! Jan bought pottery bowls & frogs, and them we fruit shopped at Bucks Place. Decided to work our way home by stopping for refreshments at Tyalgum - nice building murals and more nice rust at the general store. Shared a type of Florentine and a coconut water beverage. Both tasty.
Between there & the coast we saw a field of mixed ibises (see separate post).
Oh, look, Wooyung Beach! How did that happen?!?
Got home & disturbed a little lizard by the garden hose. This afternoon is when the pale headed rosellas visited us. (Also see sepatate post.)
