Had a very nice lunch with Marc & Anna. A few pics of floating things on the Nerang River, taken from their deck on a Chevron Island.
Another morning of lorikeet antics at the bird baths. Succeeded in getting a few shots of wings in motion. Had a very nice lunch with Marc & Anna. A few pics of floating things on the Nerang River, taken from their deck on a Chevron Island.

A yellow-tailed black cockatoo stopped briefly on our hill, on its daily journey from roost to feeding grounds that include dune banksia trees.
Fake burgers! I noticed a whole section in the grocery store with imitation meats - it's not just tofu anymore! A walk on Currumbin & Tugun beaches before the Sanctuary Market for supper. The pigeon-looking bird is a Spotted Turtle Dove - a non-native species. The old wooden footpath at the dune edge of the patio has finally been replaced. This one won't rot!
A drive up the mountain to the market. Busy, but I got rock-star parking for a gold coin donation in support of the SES (State Emergency Services). I also supported the Lions with the purchase of a saugage sizzle, while Jan & Katy indulged in German bratwurst in a bun with sauerkraut. Dessert was deep fried olives on a stick!
Short drive to the Gallery Walk and Witches Chase Cheese - including Fortitude Brewery. A little morning beach time, a little lunch sample plate at a new Thai shop on the Coolangatta bus route.
...to go to work at the Sanctuary! About 3 hours after this gorgeous sunrise I raked up this huge black-bean pod. See the koala pics on the other page.
First exit after the Tweed River bridge. Different time zone, but same beach vibe. Last pic is from Point Danger, with Fingal in the far background.
