Another day at the Sanctuary spent mostly with the koalas. As a treat for doing such a good job, and getting the essentials done so quickly, we got to feed them red clay, which they sometimes crave. The koalas nibble it out of my fingers, and then lick my fingers to try to get more! How many people can say they have been licked by koalas?! It was difficult to manage, but I did get some one handed video proof.

I started my shift in the lorikeet arena, where the kangaroo paw and jacaranda flowers provide shocks of color. Before things got busy in Koala Photos I got to hold Chocito while the professional photographer used my camera to snap some quick pics. A little jumping spider decided to visit me for a while, but I had to leave him on a bench and get to work. The koala bubs were in fine form again today! The last half of my shift was Train Guard and I didn't take any more photos. |
