Last ParkVol shift for this Australia visit. Time sure does fly when I'm having fun!

It may not look like we always work hard as wildlife volunteers, but we always manage to get the jobs done!
The last frame is a quokka. I came into the Sanctuary today in search of some wild tawny frogmouths that make the area their home. The free flight bird show was just starting, so... (black cockatoo, black beasted buzzard, black kites, wedge tailed eagle)
After the show I did find the tawnies (with a little help from my friends! The last pic is me with a rufous owl named Dufous! Another Saturday in the Sanctuary. Another new group of handsome young boys on display for all to see, and for me & my mates to feed & clean up after! I love helping out. Waiting for the 9.30 Pelican, water fowl, & Giant Eel Feed Show, one of the Australian pelicans was doing its best Bella Lugosi Count Dracula imitation. The pied cormorants were not impressed. Lots of rain usually results in large flocks of rainbow lorikeets at CWS feeds. That was the case this Tuesday morning. About 11 AM a real downpour hit us and the kangaroo paddocks had rivers running through them. We all ended shift with soggy feet as the tunnel lowlands were starting to flood! |
