In the videos, I tried to capture the essence of all the construction along the GC highway, and the feels of the rail motion.

In another quest for laksa soup for lunch, we rode the bus, G-Link light rail, and another bus to Harbour Town. After lunch we took another bus back to the gold Coast Highway, & got off to visit the fish statues (which we have often driven by, but never stopped to eyeball close-up), and to see some pelicans that are habituated to Charis Seafoods because of afternoon feeds of fish scraps. And then it was another bus, light rail, bus combination to get back home. In the videos, I tried to capture the essence of all the construction along the GC highway, and the feels of the rail motion.

After shift the Tues AM crew of park volunteers go for a social lunch out. Today, the venue was Tugun SLSC. Jan had a Karaage chicken burger, and I had the barra burger (barramundi fish).
And the sign says "" . This is a nice feature ot the Market in Tugun town. Just laying on the ground as we walk from Burleigh Beach to Treetops area! Huge passion-fruit. Birds in the Burleigh Bunnings flood-way: egret, spoonbill, ibis. Back home, a blue-faced honey-eater eating honey from a Grevillea flower.. Evening stroll to the beach, in part to listen to the cacophony of evening roosting rainbow lorikeets. We rode a bus to Kirra, and walked on the beach back toward Tugun. Interesting cloud effects at sunset. Oh, and the white ibis were flying in flocks this evening, too.
Yes, there is a certain familiarity with this scenario. We rode the bus to the CWS stop, and then walked on the beaches from Currumbin to Bilinga and back to Tugun SLSC for lunch. We met Jenny for a good catch-up. I had a HUGE burger & Jan had a high tower of squids!
One of my favorite flowers. This one seems to have an extra red spike out back! And then a blue-faced honey eater (yes, that's the name of the bird) landed on a nearby bird of paradise flower.
Pastel sunset & then a closer look at the chocolate platypus. The last Sunday of the month here is the Burleigh Heads Arts & Crafts market. From our balcony, we watch the vendors bump-in. To give them time to get organized we go for a leisurely beach walk. Life is so rough(NOT!).
One mission accomplished - we snagged a sausage sizzle! That saves me another 10 km walk to Bunnings next Saturday. :) ;) :) |
